For the live music lover and summertime adventurer, here is a list of some of the best free festivals happening along B.C.'s Fraser River.

British Columbia has no shortage of music festivals this summer. Whether it’s jazz, rock, folk, country, blues or any other musical style that suits your taste, there is an abundant amount of live performances taking place across the province to choose from. So, to narrow it down, here is a guide to some of the music events happening in the Fraser Valley area. And the best part is – these concerts are free!

Central Fraser Valley

Twilight Concerts in the Park

Location: Mission - Fraser River Heritage Park

The Envision Twilight Concert Series provides musical entertainment every Wednesday and Friday in July and August. The line-up will include bands from across B.C. performing rock, folk, barbershop and Celtic. Admission by donation.

June 3 – August 28

Langley Jazz Fest

Location: Langley - Douglas Park

A full day of jazz music in a beautiful park setting. Talented local musicians will play on three stages in downtown Langley. There will also be a swing dance performance.

Saturday, June 6 from 11am - 9pm

Adstock ’09

Location: Maple Ridge - Memorial Peace Park Bandstand

This is a free, all day music festival featuring local talent from around the lower mainland. Local youth bands will perform a variety of music at the gazebo in Memorial Peace Park.

Sunday, July 5

Jammin’ in Jubilee Concerts in the Park

Location: Abbotsford - Jubilee Park on McCallum

This annual summer concert showcases local artists. The performances will include contemporary rock, Celtic rock, blues and classic rock. Bring a chair or blanket and relax in the park Thursday evenings from July to August.

July 9 – August 13 from 7pm – 8pm

Music on the Wharf

Location: Maple Ridge - Port Haney Wharf

Bi-weekly concerts celebrating historic Port Haney. Come by the wharf every other Monday night to hear great live music.

July 13– August 24

East Fraser Valley

Sunday Afternoon Concerts

Location: Hope - Memorial Park

The Hope & District Arts Council presents Sunday Afternoon Concerts. Spend the Sunday afternoons in the park enjoying live music throughout July and August.

July 05 – August 30

These are just a few of the wonderful music festivals and events B.C. will be hosting this summer. To find events and festivals in West Fraser Valley, check out Vancouver, Coast and Mountains.
